Ethogram: Override

Ethogram: Override continues my study of the hand as a site of decision. Mounted like a specimen, it reads less as an object and more as a record of behavior, the moment a human interrupts a default. With the same format and anatomy of User Compliance, the inquiry moves from compliance to decision. I use AI in the studio and in my business. It speeds production and opens paths I value. It also rides on heavy infrastructures that turn material resources into computation: electricity from stressed grids, rare minerals pulled from the ground, and huge volumes of clean water used for cooling. Those are not abstract inputs. They are the same precious resources communities and ecosystems rely on. The work sits inside that tension and treats the gesture as observation: what do I allow, when do I intervene, and when is it better to step away. Override implies discernment, when to accept acceleration and when to cut power. Naming the act an ethogram is my way of paying attention to those choices, frame by frame.
