Red Lipstick Warrior
Red Lipstick Warrior
Museum quality giclée print on traditional mold-made watercolor paper that features a distinct, highly textured surface. The natural white cotton fiber paper has a uniquely toothy feel and surface texture.
"Red Lipstick Warrior" reflects the fight to protect green spaces from unchecked development. Inspired by a friend’s advocacy against the industrial project at White Pond in Akron—a development that proceeded without community input and destroyed a natural habitat—this piece explores the tension between preservation and progress. The organic elements in the painting represent what was lost, while the looming industrial structure embodies the disruptive force of unchecked expansion.
This print is a tribute to the power of advocacy and the individuals who stand up for their communities, even when facing overwhelming odds.
